About this role
We are currently seeking an Accommodation Officer to assist in the creation and implementation of initiatives to develop the University Managed accommodation provision and practical implementation plans towards University student accommodation provision objectives.
The post holder will provide comprehensive information and an initial guidance service to students residing in University accommodation. This will include co-ordinating facilities and services on a daily basis and ensuring all legislative obligations and associated codes of practice are met.
The post holder will also be required to participate in call-out responsibilities, on a rota basis and work out of hours on occasion in support of the Residential Services operation. This will include assisting at the main arrivals weekend for halls of residence as well as providing support to Conference/Language School activity. The post holder will also be required to support University Open Days and Applicant Days. The post holder will be expected to comply with relevant health and safety policies and procedures including those relating to lone working where this occurs.
About you
You will have a good general education, with a high standard of literacy, numeracy and attention to detail. You will need good interpersonal and communication skills, a professional manner and the ability to build relationships and respect confidentiality. You will need to be approachable, adaptable and conscientious with a strong student focus. Previous administrative experience is essential, ideally within a similar environment, as is the ability to work to tight deadlines and manage and prioritise workload. Experience of managing shared inboxes and workloads and/or apprenticeship administration would be an advantage.
