What you’ll be doing
Creating a warm, friendly and helpful environment for customers and donors at all times.
Encouraging donations and Gift Aid sign-ups in a confident and professional way.
Supporting volunteers on shift, helping them feel confident and valued in their roles.
Supporting the team to ensure the shop floor is well presented, fully stocked and visually appealing.
Processing donated stock efficiently — sorting, pricing, steaming and replenishing
Supporting the smooth day-to-day operation of the store, including opening and closing when required.
Maintaining high standards of health and safety, cash handling and security.
What we’re looking for
Experience in a retail environment where customer service is at the heart of what you do.
A natural people person who enjoys talking to customers and building rapport.
Confidence supervising volunteers and supporting others to deliver great service.
A hands-on approach — happy to work across shop floor and back of house.
Energy, resilience and the ability to work at pace in a busy environment.
What we offer
- 25 days annual leave + bank holidays.
- Contributory pension scheme.
- Employee discount scheme with major retailers.
- Free parking at some of our sites.
- Family-friendly benefits.
- Employee Assistance Programme.
- Staff social activities and opportunities to take part in challenge events & fundraising.
By joining our Waterloo team, you won’t just be working in retail — you’ll be helping to create a welcoming community space that raises vital funds for local hospice care. Every interaction, every donation and every sale helps us continue providing specialist care for local people and their families.
An Enhanced DBS check will be required (arranged and paid for by us).
