Retail Security Officer – M&S
Location: Rochdale Riverside
Salary - £13.58 per hour
Guaranteed 40+ hours per week
Join M&S as a Security Officer, where you'll play a vital role in creating a safe, welcoming and secure environment for our customers and colleagues.

We're looking for confident, customer-focused individuals who can combine strong awareness with a warm and approachable attitude. You'll be a visible presence in store, helping customers feel supported while playing an important role in keeping the business safe and secure.

- Customer service is at the heart of the role. You'll create a welcoming store environment, greeting customers as they start shopping with us, while delivering professional support to both customers and colleagues.
- You'll help keep our stores safe and secure. From preventing loss and responding to incidents, to identifying risks and supporting safe ways of working, you'll play a key role in protecting the M&S environment.
- Being digitally confident is essential. You'll use store technology, including mobile reporting systems and body-worn cameras, to support store operations and incident management.
- You'll stay calm under pressure. Whether responding to challenging situations or supporting emergency procedures, you'll always act professionally and confidently.
- Being a team player is crucial. You'll work closely with store colleagues to maintain high standards, support operations and create a positive environment for everyone.
- Flexibility is vital. Retail moves fast and every day is different. You'll adapt quickly to changing situations to support the store when needed.
What We're Looking For
- Previous security experience is preferred
- A valid SIA licence is desirable, although not essential
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A calm, confident and professional approach
- A proactive mindset with the ability to make sound decisions quickly
- A genuine passion for customer service and keeping people safe
Important Information
All candidates must be able to provide a 5-year checkable work history within the UK.
