Here on the Priory Farm Estate, we are constantly expanding and diversifying, and are looking to hire a passionate and creative pastry chef.

Our newly designed and built state-of-the-art kitchen, complete with specialised pastry section is the ideal space for the post holder to contribute their expertise to crafting exceptional sweet and savoury offerings for both the Garden Room Café and the wider Estate.

Key responsibilities

  • Collaborate with kitchen management to develop and implement new concepts for our sweet and savoury products
  • Expertly craft top-tier desserts, ranging from cakes and tarts to pastries utilising premium ingredients.
  • Provide guidance and supervision to junior chefs and assistants as necessary, fostering a collaborative environment.
  • Stay abreast of the latest industry trends, techniques, and innovations, leveraging this knowledge to enhance and elevate our product offerings.

Hours of Work

  • Tuesday to Saturday, 8am-4.30pm
  • All shifts include a 30-minute break for lunch
  • Closed Easter Sunday, Christmas Day, Boxing Day, 27th December and New Year’s Day.

Our Ideal Candidate

  • A minimum of 2 years hands-on experience in pastry production, with a focus on making both sweet and savoury items.
  • Proficient knowledge of pastry techniques, ingredients, and equipment
  • Exceptional time management and organisational skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines.

Today, over 65 years later, we have created a bustling rural hub consisting of our award-winning farm shop, gift barn, family adventure trail, seasonal pumpkin picking, event venue, and newly renovated extension and state-of-the-art Butchery, Garden Centre and Café. The site welcomes some one million customers each year who appreciate the excellent service and quality we guarantee.

Pay: £30,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
