Our team at Hobbs Field focuses on providing the right balance of the individuality, needs, wishes and rights of the people we support. We’re looking for two Support Workers to join our wonderful team on a full time, permanent basis.
Salary: £24,796-£25,185 annually, £12.85-£13.05 hourly rate
Contract Length: Permanent
Hours: Full time, 37 hours per week
Location: Hobbs Field, Horsham
About Hobbs Field
Hobbs Field is a registered residential care home providing care and support for up to 15 people over the age of 18 who have a learning disability.
The Hobbs Field staff team are working to produce new opportunities for people both within the service and through our links with local community groups and volunteers.
We support people to live the lives they want with a focus on “Active Support” to increase people’s independent living skills.
About You

Key skills & Qualifications and experience
Key Skills
1. Ability to interpret information, such as service complaints, and then redirect them to the appropriate person to provide quick and accurate resolution.
2. Good communication and interpersonal skills in order to provide clear and concise advice and guidance to a range of people.
3. Ability to deal appropriately with expressive behaviour from the people we support, and respond sensitively to their families and carers.
4. Ability to build relationships with people from a wide variety of cultural, religious and ethnic backgrounds.
5. Ability to work as part of a team completing shared tasks in order to deliver a service to others.
Qualifications and experience
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills in order to record and document activities in the provider plans.
- Basic understanding of the needs of the people we support and their rights as an individual.
- Demonstrable successful experience of working as part of a team.
- Knowledge of Health and Safety practice, First Aid and Fire procedure, Manual Handling - Desirable
- NVQ 2/Diploma in Care or equivalent qualification - Desirable
- Previous experience of working in a care setting and with people who have a disability or are vulnerable - Desirable
- Previous experience of running group activities - Desirable
