Level 3 Learning Support Assistant to join our committed EYFS team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a vibrant and diverse school community where your contribution will have a meaningful impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the class teacher in delivering high-quality, play-based learning in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
  • Work with small groups and individual pupils to develop early literacy, numeracy, communication, and social skills.
  • Assist in planning, preparing, and setting up engaging learning activities and continuous provision areas.
  • Observe, assess, and record children’s progress, contributing to learning journeys and assessments.
  • Promote a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment that supports children’s wellbeing and development.
  • Encourage positive behaviour and model good social interactions in line with the school’s behaviour policy.
  • Support children with additional needs, including those with SEND, implementing targets and strategies set by the teacher or SENCO.
  • Help maintain a stimulating and organised classroom environment, including indoor and outdoor learning spaces.
  • Assist with personal care routines where required, promoting independence and dignity.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues to support children’s learning and development.
  • Supervise children during playtimes, lunchtimes, and other non-classroom activities as required.
  • Contribute to safeguarding and child protection procedures, ensuring all concerns are reported appropriately.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Experience working with pupils within EYFS
  • NVQ Level 3 in Child Care/relevant level 3 qualification
  • Ability to assist in curriculum planning and deliver learning activities under teacher guidance.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to engage and motivate pupils effectively.
  • Organisational skills to manage learning resources and classroom setup.
  • A genuine passion for supporting children’s learning and development.
