Express Recruitment are proud to be working in partnership with a growing and forward-thinking accountancy practice who are seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to join their team on a permanent basis.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a highly organised and detail-oriented finance professional to take ownership of bookkeeping activities whilst also supporting payroll processes within a supportive and flexible working environment. You will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting a diverse client portfolio.
In return, the successful candidate will receive a salary of c£29,000 FTE dependant on experience, flexible working arrangements, some hybrid working potential, and the opportunity to develop within a growing practice.
Skills & Experience
- Previous experience as a bookkeeper in an accountancy practice
- Payroll experience advantageous
- AAT Level 3, equivalent qualification, or qualified by experience
- Working knowledge of Xero, Sage, QuickBooks or similar accounting software
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Strong communication skills with a proactive approach
Roles & Responsibilities
- Maintain and update accurate financial records including invoices, receipts, payments and reconciliations
- Prepare and submit VAT returns and support wider compliance requirements
- Assist with payroll processing, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines
- Support monthly and annual financial reporting activities
- Monitor client accounts and resolve financial discrepancies where required
- Liaise with clients and colleagues to provide financial support and guidance
- Utilise accounting software including Xero, Sage and QuickBooks
