Melstock House is a mixed-sex discharge ward for service users who are clinically ready for discharge but have complex care or social needs that require additional support before returning home. The ward specialises in caring for individuals with functional mental health conditions and mild cognitive impairment.

Our focus is on delivering high-quality, person-centred care that promotes recovery, independence, and successful community reintegration.

As a Staff Nurse, you will work alongside the Ward Manager and multidisciplinary team to provide excellent nursing care and treatment. You will play a key role in supporting service users through assessment, treatment, recovery planning, and preparing for discharge.

Shift Patterns

Early: 06:45 - 14:15

Late: 12:45 - 20:15

Long Day: 06:45 - 20:15

Night: 19:45 - 07:15

  • Deliver high-quality nursing care in a safe and therapeutic environment.
  • Undertake comprehensive mental health assessments.
  • Develop and implement person-centred care and treatment plans.
  • Promote recovery, wellbeing, and self-management.
  • Work collaboratively with service users, families, carers, and partner agencies.
  • Contribute to reducing unnecessary hospital stays through effective discharge planning.
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation and professional standards.
  • Supervise junior staff
