About the Role

Join a leading UK housebuilder where you'll play a key role in delivering high-quality, commercially successful residential developments. This position offers the opportunity to work on projects from land acquisition through to planning approval, collaborating with internal teams, consultants, local authorities, and stakeholders to create sustainable and well-designed communities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce and coordinate high-quality residential layouts and planning designs.
  • Manage external consultants, ensuring information is delivered on time, within budget, and to the required standard.
  • Coordinate and attend design, pre-start, and project meetings.
  • Ensure schemes are commercially viable and aligned with business objectives.
  • Implement quality management processes to maintain design standards.
  • Liaise with planning authorities, highways departments, statutory bodies, and consultants to secure approvals.
  • Support the preparation and submission of planning applications and associated documentation.
  • Coordinate design information with engineering teams to achieve adoptable and compliant solutions.
  • Manage planning conditions and support Section 106 negotiations.
  • Assist with community consultation events and stakeholder engagement.
  • Contribute to site appraisals and the assessment of new development opportunities.
  • Provide technical input regarding planning legislation, Building Regulations, and industry standards.

Requirements

  • Degree qualification in Planning, Architecture, Urban Design, or a related discipline.
  • Previous experience within the housebuilding or residential development sector.
  • Proven ability to prepare and manage multiple planning applications.
  • Strong knowledge of residential design principles and planning processes.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and project coordination skills.
