Homecare Pharmacy Technician

The James Paget Hospital Pharmacy team is looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated Pharmacy Technician to join our Homecare team.

Pharmacy Homecare manages medicines that are prescribed by the hospital but delivered directly to patient at home. The role ensures patients get the right treatment safely, on time, and with the right support, while co-ordinating between the hospital, suppliers, and homecare providers.

We consider requests for flexible hours or job share roles in line with our service requirements. Our vision is to provide safe, high quality seamless services delivered with courtesy and respect. The Pharmacy team work one in every six weekends to support our 7-day service. We are looking for a qualified Technician to join our Pharmacy team, providing high quality care to patients admitted to the hospital.

To act as a member of the Pharmacy team, undertaking a full range of duties commensurate with the professional role of a Pharmacy Technician, under the supervision of the Chief Pharmacist whilst working within the legal requirements, Trust policies and department procedures as laid down by the department and the Trust.

Management of the specialist technical work of Pharmacy homecare.

The day to day technical duties relating to homecare medicines supplies.

Planning, organisation, prioritisation of the workload, and task allocation to provide a safe, high quality and timely service.

Ensure that all transactions are processed through the Pharmacy JAC computer system.

To ensure adherence of homecare suppliers to contractual obligations and existing service level agreement.

To contribute to the development of new opportunities for homecare services within Pharmacy.
