Overall Purpose of The Job

To support the Technical Manager in delivering workshop activities such as hull aperture blank manufacturing, new build equipment manufacturing and to complete maintenance tasks to support plant equipment and building facilities. The Workshop Technician should, on occasion, be able to support on-site operations when required to mobilise or fix plant and LSE equipment. There will also be opportunity to support dive sites as a diving tender after receiving the necessary competency training.

Key Responsibilities and Tasks

  • To work within SeaTec’s Health, Safety and Quality Management Systems
  • To work within the guidance detailed in the V. Group Employees handbook. Conduct all operations safely and as directed by of the appointed line manager.
  • Provide reasonable support to maintenance teams in the Chandlers Ford and Plymouth office when assessed as competent.
  • Support blank manufacturing, equipment builds and plant maintenance under the guidance of the appointed line manager.
  • Ensure load out lists and heads up documents are accurately updated, providing a key link between operations and maintenance teams.
  • Ensure the red tag procedure is completed correctly for defective equipment
  • Support the diving supervisor when required and ensure diving operations are carried out to meet or exceed customer satisfaction.
  • Carry out any other reasonable tasks to support the business

Essential

  • Experience within a workshop / operational environment.
  • Demonstrate basic knowledge of workshop tooling and understanding of technical units of measurement and mechanical terminology.
  • Effective and proactive team member.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Good computer skills using Microsoft packages

Desirable

  • Minimum A-Levels or equivalent academic or vocational qualification in a Science and Engineering subject. However, experienced applicants with none of the above can still apply
  • Hold a current suitable first aid qualification preferred.
  • UK Driving License
