Job Title: Fostering Assessment Manager

Location: Remote – midlands

Reports to: Head of Recruitment

Salary: £50,000 DOE

Hours: Full-time 35 hours

Are you an experienced fostering social worker looking to move into a leadership role? Do you have a strong focus on delivering high-quality assessments and improving outcomes for children?

We’re recruiting a Fostering Assessment Manager to lead our assessment team, overseeing the end-to-end process and ensuring prospective foster carers experience a clear, supportive, and timely assessment journey.

Key Responsibilities

Lead, manage, and support a team of independent assessors

Provide regular supervision, appraisals, and professional development opportunities

Monitor team performance, workload, and productivity to ensure effective delivery

Oversee the completion of Form F assessments

Ensure all assessments are completed to a high standard and within required timescales

Quality assure assessment reports prior to panel submission

Ensure compliance with fostering regulations, national minimum standards, and safeguarding requirements

Maintain oversight of audit processes and implement improvements where necessary

Support service readiness for inspections, including Ofsted

Contribute to fostering panel processes, including report submission and attendance where required

Work collaboratively with recruitment, marketing, and operational teams to maintain an effective assessment pathway

Identify and implement improvements to assessment processes and the applicant experience

Contribute to service development, growth, and recruitment strategy

Safeguarding

Safeguarding children is central to everything we do. The successful candidate will be required to follow safeguarding procedures at all times and complete mandatory safeguarding training as part of their induction.

What We’re Looking For

A qualified social worker registered with Social Work England

Significant experience within fostering or children’s social care

Experience of managing or supervising social workers, with the ability to lead and support a team effectively

Strong experience completing or overseeing Form F assessments

Sound knowledge of fostering regulations, legislation, and safeguarding practices

Excellent report writing, analytical thinking, and decision-making skills

Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines

A confident and approachable leader who can support and develop others

A commitment to high-quality practice and achieving positive outcomes for children
