We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated Learning Support Assistant to join our positive and hardworking team. We have a fantastic team of support staff at Orchards Infant School and we are looking forward to appointing a new member to our Early Years team. We are looking for someone who really understands early child development and wants to make a difference to young people’s lives.

Start date for this position: 02.09.2026

We can offer a purposeful play-based learning environment, with an impressive and extensive outdoor area. Our children make good progress in this environment due to the quality interactions had with all members of our staff team.

Salary:£15,000.60

Contract Type: Fixed term

Working Pattern: Full time

Location: Orchards Infant School

Interviews: Monday 6th July

What You Need to Succeed

The successful candidates will;

  • have the appropriate and relevant qualifications, e.g. NVQ 3/ child-based experience
  • GCSE passes at C or above in English and Maths
  • be able to demonstrate skills and experience of working with Foundation Stage children in a play-based environment.
  • be enthusiastic, caring and motivated
  • be able to work as part of a team
  • demonstrate the ability to use their initiative
  • have good interpersonal skills
