If you are looking to begin or progress your career as a Band 5 Dietitian in a supportive department which emphasises clinical supervision and peer support, as well as learning and development across the Four Pillars of Practice, this may be the post for you!

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the growing team of over 30 Dietitians in York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, as a Dietitian based at York Hospital. You will be joining a forward-thinking department which is valued and respected throughout the Trust, and crosses many specialties.

The ability to transport yourself and equipment across the locality during the course of a normal working day is required for this vacancy.

Our friendly and supportive Team based at York Hospital, will support you to develop skills across inpatients and outpatients, including clinics and group education.

If you are a newly qualified Dietitian in your first year of practice, we have a Preceptorship programme to help support development of your skills and confidence as an autonomous practitioner.

You will have the opportunity to work with experienced Dietitians, as well as working alongside other Band 5 Dietitians, Dietetic Support Workers and Assistant Practitioners, to provide inpatient services across a variety of areas, including General Medicine, General Surgery, Stroke, Gastroenterology, Diabetes and Renal Medicine on a rotational basis.

The department places a strong emphasis on clinical and peer support and clinical supervision, and has a well-established programme facilitating the training of dietetic students on the three clinical placements included within their training.

We are also involved in delivering a variety of rolling training programmes for other healthcare professionals across the Trust, relating to nutritional care. The successful candidate will be involved in these important aspects of supporting the learning and development of others.
