Traumatic Brain Injury Therapy Assistant

Working under the supervision of qualified therapy staff within the head injury team, to undertake a variety of tasks assisting with Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy treatment, as well as working as part of the Multidisciplinary team as appropriate. The post holder will carry an independent caseload in relation to helping patients with activities of daily living, functional and mobility problems as part of their rehabilitation programme.

To work as part of the neuro rehab teams providing rehabilitation to outpatients with a traumatic brain injury and neurological conditions.

  • To carry an independent caseload alongside qualified Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy staff to assist in assessment and treatment of neurological rehabilitation and encourage patient self-management.
  • To work as part of the multidisciplinary team to provide a prioritised service in response to workload, staffing difficulties and discharge pressures.
  • To work as part of the multidisciplinary team to deliver a holistic, patient centred approach to care. To be responsible to the therapists within the traumatic brain injury and neuro outpatients
