Valley School is an outstanding special school which caters for nursery and primary aged pupils with complex learning difficulties.

We wish to appoint a teaching assistant who is: -

child-centered in their approach

sensitive and patient in their dealings with children who have significant special needs and who may, at times, present behaviours that challenge

knowledgeable about, or interested in, working with children who have autism and or profound and complex learning and physical difficulties including complex health needs

flexible, versatile, positive, calm and enthusiastic

committed to their own training and development

Safeguarding is the most important work that we do at Valley School. We expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

We have a very low turnover of teaching assistants and when people do leave us it is often to retire or for career progression including teaching or therapy posts.

The successful candidate will be based in a class with approximately 8 pupils.

High quality ongoing continued professional development is provided within school for all staff.

The successful applicant will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check. We carry out online checks as part of our safer recruitment work.
