We're working with welcoming schools across Sunderland and the surrounding areas who are preparing for the new academic year and looking to welcome experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistants to their teams.
These schools are committed to providing high-quality education and ensuring every pupil receives the support they need to succeed. Staff work collaboratively to create positive and inclusive learning environments where children can thrive both academically and personally.
We're looking for confident and proactive HLTAs who are passionate about supporting pupils and contributing to outstanding classroom practice.
What you'll be doing
- Delivering planned lessons in the absence of the class teacher
- Supporting teaching and learning across a range of year groups
- Leading small group interventions to raise attainment
- Working closely with teachers to support pupil progress
- Promoting positive behaviour and engagement in learning
- Monitoring and recording pupil progress
What we're looking for
- HLTA qualification or relevant classroom experience
- Strong knowledge of the primary curriculum
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills
- A flexible and proactive approach
- Willingness to travel across Sunderland and surrounding areas
- A driving licence and access to a vehicle is beneficial but not essential
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
