Associate, Customer Order Fulfillment

This role contributes to Ciena’s customer experience by ensuring order fulfillment accuracy, delivery performance, and proactive resolution of supply chain challenges. The position supports operational excellence through coordination with internal stakeholders and supply chain partners. Success in this role helps maintain customer satisfaction and revenue assurance across complex order environments.

How You Will Make An Impact

• Drive achievement of key performance metrics including PLT, OPD, CRD, and backorder targets
• Participate in supply chain reviews to secure delivery dates, optimize lead times, and monitor prioritization and allocation
• Build and maintain working relationships with global supply chain stakeholders to meet service objectives
• Ensure timely communication of delivery status, issues, and recovery plans to internal customers
• Identify and communicate potential escalations to enable early recovery actions
• Chair weekly order board calls to review order books, delivery risks, and upcoming demand
• Track shipments, waybills, proof of delivery, and resolve credit-related shipment holds

The Must Haves

• Education: University or college degree
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain or Business discipline
• Experience managing multiple priorities simultaneously within defined timelines
• Application of interpersonal skills across cross-regional and cross-functional teams
• Delivery of written and verbal communication across organizational levels including presentations
• Utilization of Microsoft Office tools including Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word

Nice To Haves

• Experience with ERP systems such as Oracle
• High attention to detail in execution of operational tasks
• Application of problem-solving to resolve service impacting issues
• Ability to build relationships through structured orderbook and delivery calls
• Demonstration of persistence in achieving operational targets
