About the Role
This post is an Assistant Youth worker – Part time 5 hours per week – split over 2 sessions working 2.5 hours for each session in the Charnwood locality

The Youth & Justice Service is a dedicated service for children aged 11+ who need support. We offer a wide range of non-statutory and statutory interventions to children who are experiencing difficulties and challenges where support cannot be provided by universal services alone. We have strong relationships with wider services& partnerships supporting children and their families to ensure that we can jointly deliver the best possible support and care.

About You
To be considered for this role, you are required to have permanent rights to work within the UK
You must have gained level 2 or equivalent in Maths & English & You should also hold a valid driving licence and have access to a vehicle & be able to work 2 evenings per week in the Charnwood locality

- You have Level 2 or equivalent qualification in maths & English and have experience of working with young people aged 11-19
- You have knowledge and /or experience to be able to assist in planning, setting up, and running youth work sessions and events in a respectful, consistent, and approachable manner.
- You have the ability to ensure all young people feel welcome, included, and supported regardless of background or ability.
- You are able to follow & understand safeguarding procedures, and report concerns promptly and appropriately.
- You are able to communicate effectively with colleagues and contribute positively to the team and the Youth work offer
- You are dependable, punctual, and proactive in supporting youth work delivery.
- You are able to confidently contribute & participate in supervision, training and team reflection to improve practice.
In addition, we also expect you to share our commitment to our values and to delivering accessible and inclusive services which meet the needs of all of our residents. You will be asked to demonstrate your understanding of these commitments as part of the selection process.
