Salary: Pro rata actual salary £26,254 - £28,035

Astrea Academy Woodfields is a large and ambitious secondary academy serving around 750 students from Year 7 through to Sixth Form. The academy is on an exciting journey towards excellence, with a strong focus on raising standards and improving outcomes for all pupils. Key Responsibilities
- Supervise whole classes during the short-term absence of teaching staff
- Deliver pre-prepared lesson materials and ensure pupils remain on task
- Manage behaviour in line with the school’s policies, maintaining a calm and safe environment
- Support pupils with additional needs, promoting engagement and positive learning attitudes
- Respond to safeguarding concerns in line with school procedures
- Provide feedback to teaching staff on pupil progress and behaviour
- Support the wider school community, including break and lunchtime duties where required
What We’re Looking For
- Experience of working with children or young people, ideally within an educational or SEND setting
- Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure
- A patient, empathetic and resilient approach to supporting pupils with additional needs
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
- The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
- Confidence in leading a classroom and engaging pupils in learning
