Quality Control Inspector

We are a well-established specialist contractor providing high-quality blast cleaning, surface preparation, and industrial coating services across a range of industrial and commercial sectors. Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Quality Control Inspector to join our team.

The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring all blasting and coating works are completed to the required specifications, industry standards, and client expectations. You will play a key role in maintaining quality, compliance, and continuous improvement across projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out inspections of surface preparation, blasting, and coating applications.
• Ensure works comply with project specifications, ITPs, and relevant standards (e.g. ISO, SSPC/NACE).
• Conduct and record environmental checks, surface profile measurements, DFT readings, adhesion testing, and holiday testing where required.
• Prepare inspection reports and quality documentation.
• Identify non-conformances and assist in implementing corrective actions.
• Liaise with site supervisors, operatives, clients, and third-party inspectors.
• Monitor materials, equipment calibration, and coating storage conditions.
• Support continuous improvement in quality and safety procedures.
• Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with health and safety regulations.

Requirements

• Previous experience in industrial coatings, blast cleaning, or protective coatings inspection.
• Knowledge of coating systems, surface preparation standards, and inspection techniques.
• Ability to read technical specifications and drawings.
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Good communication and reporting abilities.
• Full UK driving licence.

Desirable Qualifications

• ICorr, NACE, or BGAS coating inspection qualifications.
• CSCS card.
• Knowledge of ISO 12944 and related coating standards.
• Experience working within heavy industrial, marine, oil & gas, power, or infrastructure sectors.
