Role Description

Chair of the Board — Living With Hope CIC

Living With Hope CIC is seeking a strong, commercially minded Chair of the Board to help guide the next stage of our growth.

We provide safe accommodation and structured support for vulnerable individuals, with a particular focus on those fleeing or recovering from domestic abuse. Our mission is simple: restore stability, dignity and opportunity.

This is not a passive advisory role.

We are looking for someone who can bring structure, discipline, accountability and leadership to the board. The right person will help turn strategy into execution, keep key people aligned, and ensure the organisation is building real long-term value.

The role will involve

  • Chairing board meetings and keeping discussions focused on outcomes
  • Creating a clear rhythm of accountability across the leadership team
  • Helping strengthen governance, credibility and decision-making
  • Supporting the development of our growth strategy
  • Holding the organisation accountable to measurable progress
  • Helping attract high-calibre board members, partners, funders and stakeholders
  • Ensuring the board contributes directly to income generation, organisational strength and enterprise value

We are especially interested in someone with experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Public sector commissioning
  • Supported housing
  • Health and social care
  • Domestic abuse services
  • Charity, CIC or social enterprise governance
  • Property, finance, investment or business growth
  • Scaling organisations through structure and accountability

This position is currently voluntary, but it is designed for someone who wants to help shape a serious, ambitious organisation with strong social impact and long-term growth potential.

Expected commitment: approximately 1 board meeting per month, plus strategic input where required.

If you are someone who understands governance, growth, accountability and impact and you want to help build something meaningful we would welcome a conversation.

To express interest, please email us with your full name, contact number, CV, and a short cover note outlining why you are interested in the role and how your skills, experience, and values make you the right fit for the Board.
