The Role

As a Senior Java Engineer, you will design, develop, and support enterprise applications within a financial services environment. You will work across the full development lifecycle, contributing to scalable platform solutions, integration initiatives, and performance optimisation while collaborating with cross‑functional teams.

Key responsibilities

  • Developing and maintaining Java‑based applications using modern frameworks and best practices.
  • Performing code analysis, debugging, and troubleshooting to ensure application stability and performance.
  • Supporting integration of applications across platforms, services, and enterprise systems.
  • Contributing to design discussions and solution architecture decisions.
  • Ensuring code quality through testing, review processes, and documentation.
  • Supporting CI/CD pipelines and deployment activities.
  • Collaborating with development, QA, and DevOps teams to deliver high‑quality solutions.

Your Profile

Essential skills/knowledge/experience

  • Proficiency in Java and enterprise application development.
  • Familiarity with Spring Framework, including Spring MVC, AOP, IoC, Dependency Injection, JPA, and Hibernate.
  • Understanding of Spring Boot and microservices architecture.
  • Working knowledge of databases such as MySQL, Oracle, and Couchbase.
  • Familiarity with web technologies including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery.
  • Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and deployment tools such as Jenkins.
  • Awareness of tokenisation and cryptogram technologies in secure environments.
  • Ability to work across development and integration activities within enterprise systems.

Desirable skills/knowledge/experience

  • Understanding of multithreading and advanced application design techniques.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages such as UNIX, SQL, or PL/SQL, and tools like Apache Cassandra.
  • Knowledge of testing frameworks such as JUnit and system testing practices.
  • Proficiency with version control tools such as Git.
  • Familiarity with code quality tools such as Sonar and design patterns.
  • Exposure to code optimisation and reuse practices.
  • Awareness of AI‑assisted coding tools.
