Paediatric Complex Care Nurse / Team Leader

Description of Role

We are looking for a *female paediatric complex care nurse to support a 15-year-old young man and his family in his home.

The role includes supporting his parents, and other medical professionals with the management of his constantly evolving complex medical presentation. You will be providing clinical oversight and day to day support as appropriate to the team of support workers to maintain his health and wellbeing at home and in the community.

You will work collaboratively with the case manager, to ensure the safe coordinated running of the support team with the completion of administrative duties as delegated.

Essential Requirements

  • Minimum Band 6 or above
  • Minimum 2 years Paediatric Complex Care Nurse experience
  • Lone working experience
  • Moving and handling (hoisting) experience
  • Must have a fun and outgoing personality, and be confident and competent in any environment
  • A full driving licence is essential
  • Gastronomy/ PEG Care experience

You must be confident with all of the below:

  • Epilepsy and seizure management
  • Airway/ Tracheostomy& Suction Management
  • Medication/ rescue medication administration
  • Gastronomy (PEG Feeding competency)
  • Neurology experience
  • Pain Management

Desirable Requirements

  • Team Leader experience
  • Educational play therapy supporting with sensory play
  • Urdu speaker

Working Hours

36 hours per week minimum

Days, waking nights and weekends are available

Flexibility is essential

Rates of Pay

£30.00 - £40.00 per hour

Depending on experience
