Thompsons Solar is seeking a motivated emerging professional or recent graduate with a passion for renewable energy to join our growing team. This role is ideal for someone eager to build a career in the solar and battery storage sector, with opportunities to develop both technical understanding and project delivery skills.
The successful candidate will have a solid grasp of the processes involved in solar PV and battery storage installations. You’ll support the full project lifecycle from the sales stage through to delivery and aftercare, ensuring a smooth and professional experience for our clients.
While practical installation experience is an advantage, it is not essential. This is primarily an office-based role at our Blackpool HQ, and full training will be provided where needed.

Responsibilities
- Project delivery support - Assist the Solar Director with the coordination and delivery of solar PV and battery storage installations.
- Assessments - Conduct both desk‑based and on‑site evaluations of potential solar locations.
- Grid applications - Prepare and submit grid connection applications and manage follow‑up through to offer stage.
- Supplier & subcontractor liaison - Obtain quotations and maintain strong working relationships.
- Client communication - Keep clients informed from order through to installation, aftercare, and maintenance.
- Project administration - Prepare quotes, invoices, handover packs, and maintain accurate project documentation.
- Record keeping - Track works, materials, work completed, and safety checks.
- Compliance - Ensure all work meets health, safety, and certification standards.
Skills & Experience
- Electrical knowledge - Highly desirable but not essential.
- Solar design software - Experience preferred; training provided.
- Organisation - Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively.
- Communication - Confident in liaising with clients, suppliers, and internal teams.
- Teamwork & independence - Comfortable working autonomously and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment.
- Attention to detail - Strong focus on accuracy and quality.
