The successful applicants will join the current Gynaecological Oncology team led by Mr Malcolm Padwick. New post holders will have mentorship support provided within the division, to ensure they are supported in assimilating to their new role.
The Gynaecological Oncology service is part of the Women’s and Children’s Division, which also includes Paediatrics and Maternity. The positions will provide specialist Gynaecological Oncology surgical care and Rapid Access Diagnostic support at Watford General Hospital, St Albans City Hospital, with outreach clinics to our units in Luton and Stevenage.
Watford General Hospital is a tertiary Gynaecological Cancer Centre supported by three Gynaecological Oncology consultants. Our workload is close to 400 new cancer cases treated every year. Within the department there is extensive experience in advanced laparoscopic and robotic surgery. The appointees will be expected to further support the development of robotics within the department and to help with the increased workload of advanced ovarian cancer cases.
