Zigbee Embedded Systems Engineer - Contract | Windsor (Hybrid)

6-month contract opportunity for an experienced Embedded Engineer to help deliver a next-generation IoT hub platform focused on Zigbee connectivity, constrained MCU architectures, and cloud-connected smart home devices.

You’ll work on a greenfield Hub Lite project, building embedded firmware from PoC through to production-ready software, integrating Zigbee stacks, optimising low-memory systems, and enabling secure OTA and cloud communication.

Key experience required

• Strong Embedded C/C++
• RTOS and constrained embedded systems
• Zigbee / BLE / Wi-Fi / 802.15.4
• ESP-IDF / Espressif SDK
• Silicon Labs MG2x Zigbee development
• Secure boot, provisioning, OTA updates
• MQTT and AWS IoT Core integration
• Memory and flash optimisation on MCUs
• Experience delivering production IoT devices

Experience with Matter, Thread or smart energy networks is highly desirable.

Hybrid working with 1 day onsite in Windsor. Strong day rate available for the right engineer. Initial 6-month engagement with extension potential.
