Are you an experienced electronics/electrical professional with a passion for leading teams and solving complex technical challenges?
At Impact Subsea, we design and manufacture innovative, ground-breaking underwater sensor solutions for ROVs and AUVs. Following a period of rapid growth—and hot on the heels of winning the King’s Award for Enterprise—we are looking for a proactive Support Supervisor to lead and develop our growing technical support team in Aberdeen.
In this role, you will bridge the gap between technical expertise and stellar customer service, ensuring our global user base experiences minimal downtime and absolute confidence in our equipment.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead & Mentor: Oversee, guide, and develop a growing, highly skilled technical support team.
- Technical Troubleshooting: Provide remote technical support (via email and phone) to diagnose and resolve customer issues efficiently, minimizing the need for factory returns.
- Hands-On Engineering: Conduct investigations, servicing, repairs, and calibrations on both customer-owned and rental sensors.
- Process Improvement: Maintain and elevate our support processes in line with company and regulatory standards.
- Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Work closely with our production and development teams, and assist in creating/maintaining top-tier technical manuals and documentation.
Essential
- Education: A Degree, HND, or equivalent hands-on experience in an electronic or electrical engineering discipline.
- Customer Facing: Proven experience working directly with customers, with excellent verbal and written communication skills (the ability to explain complex technical issues to non-technical users is key).
- Technical Savvy: Strong analytical and fault-finding skills, with a solid understanding of basic computer networking and serial communications.
- Attributes: A proactive problem-solver with strong attention to detail, impeccable record-keeping, and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Right to Work: Valid authorization to work in the United Kingdom.
Desirable (An Advantage)
- Direct experience in the assembly and testing of subsea electronic equipment.
- Familiarity or personal interest in scripting/coding (e.g., Python, C++).
- Flexibility to travel occasionally (conferences, client visits) and a willingness to participate in an out-of-hours on-call rotation for emergency support.
Why Join Impact Subsea?
We pride ourselves on offering a supportive, high-energy, and collaborative environment. Our team enjoys a fantastic benefits package, including:
- Work-Life Balance: Flexible working hours and hybrid/work-from-home options where possible.
