About the role

At Balfour Beatty, we deliver some of the UK’s most complex and high-profile infrastructure projects, shaping the communities we live and work in. As our project portfolio continues to grow across the region, we are looking for a highly capable Security Manager to play a key role in protecting our people, assets, and reputation.

Based in Warrington, this role will oversee security across a diverse range of major projects, many of which are high-profile, sensitive, and of strategic importance. You will operate in a dynamic environment where no two days are the same, working closely with project teams, clients, and external partners to ensure robust, forward-thinking security practices are embedded from planning through to delivery.

What you'll be doing

Developing and implementing robust security strategies and plans across projects

Managing site security operations, including guarding, access control, and surveillance systems

Conducting risk assessments and threat analyses for high-profile projects

Leading incident response, investigations, and reporting

Collaborating with project teams, clients, and external stakeholders including law enforcement

Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, standards, and company policies

Driving continuous improvement in security processes and resilience planning

Managing and auditing third-party security providers

Delivering security awareness training to employees and contractors.

Who we're looking for

  • Significant experience in a security management role, ideally within construction, infrastructure, or a similar sector
  • Strong understanding of physical security measures, risk management, and incident response
  • Experience managing multiple sites or projects simultaneously
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
  • Knowledge of relevant UK security legislation and standards
  • Ability to travel regularly across regional project sites.
