Chair of Trustees
Reach Out for Mental Health
At Reach Out for Mental Health, we believe suicide prevention needs courage, innovation and humanity.
We were created after our founder lost a colleague to suicide and saw first-hand the gaps people were falling through. Since then, we’ve grown into a grassroots charity supporting adults experiencing suicidal thoughts through free counselling, peer support and befriending services across Essex.
Now, we’re looking for a new Chair of Trustees to help lead us into our next chapter.
This isn’t a ceremonial role.
We’re looking for someone connected, compassionate and strategically minded. Someone who can support growth, challenge constructively, champion our work and help open doors to opportunities, partnerships and relationships that could genuinely change lives.
You don’t need to come from a mental health background. In fact, experience in business, leadership, partnerships, fundraising, communications or entrepreneurship could be incredibly valuable.
We’d particularly love to hear from people who:
- Have senior leadership or board-level experience
- Are confident building relationships and influencing others
- Bring strong professional networks and connections
- Believe mental health support should feel human, accessible and stigma-free
- Want to use their skills and influence to create meaningful social impact
Time commitment:
- Approx. 6 board meetings per year
- Monthly check-ins with the Founder/CEO
- Occasional events and ambassadorial support
This is a voluntary role, with expenses covered.
