PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: £28,471 (including London Weighting). Salary is dependent on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
This is the ideal entry-level role for a TV career in props! The Trainee Prop Hand will support the EastEnders Props team by assisting in the preparation, delivery, and maintenance of props and sets, while completing a structured training programme.
The role aims to develop the practical skills, technical knowledge, and on-set awareness required to become a proficient Prop Hand, contributing to the smooth and efficient running of a fast-paced drama production. Through hands-on experience, teamwork, and guidance from industry professionals, the trainee will play an active role in maintaining high production standards and supporting the creation of engaging, authentic on-screen storytelling.

Your Key Responsibilities And Impact
Reporting to the EastEnders Prop Store Manager, you will gain an understanding of the connection to the larger design team working alongside Designers and Art Directors including experienced Film and Television professionals where you will gain an in-depth understanding of what it entails to work on a large drama production.
Your Duties Will Include
- Assist with setting and striking scenery, including safe handling of props and set pieces
- Prepare, organise, and deliver action props to set in line with filming requirements
- Support studio standby to ensure props are ready and available during filming
- Maintain continuity by ensuring props are correctly placed and consistent across scenes
- Carry out general set housekeeping, including cleaning, organising, and maintaining prop storage areas
Essential Criteria
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES
- Demonstrated passion for television production, particularly within drama and props
- Some experience of working with props and/or production design, whether that be professionally or from academic studies or courses.
- Demonstrable willingness to learn, with a proactive and self-motivated approach to tasks
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and take direction from others
- Experience of working comfortably in physically demanding environments, including lifting and manual tasks
DESIRABLE
- Full, clean UK driving licence and flexibility to work in a fast-paced production setting
