Why Join Us?
This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to strong governance, transparency and public accountability within policing by becoming an Independent Member of the Joint Independent Audit Committee (JIAC).
The Committee provides independent advice and assurance to the Police and Crime Commissioner and the Chief Constable on the effectiveness of governance arrangements across the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner and Durham Constabulary. This includes oversight of risk management, internal control, financial reporting, audit and value for money.
As an Independent Member, you will play a key role at the heart of an organisation serving communities across our area, supporting the delivery of the Police, Crime and Justice Plan and helping to ensure that public resources are managed effectively, ethically and transparently.
You will join a professionally respected committee where independence of mind, sound judgement and constructive challenge are valued, and where your experience can make a genuine contribution to public confidence in policing.
