We are looking to recruit a committed and enthusiastic person to provide high quality resettlement support to customers living in Howe Hill for Young People.
HH4YP is a resettlement supported accommodation service for young people aged 16-25 providing accommodation, support and education work with a view to helping people gain the necessary skills to move on into more independent accommodation suitable to their needs.
The successful applicant will work within the team and under the guidance of the supervisor at Howe Hill to provide a well maintained and responsive Young Persons Accommodation Project to customers who are homeless and in need of supported housing.
You will provide appropriate emotional and physical support to young people accessing the service who are vulnerable and under a lot of stress and therefore the successful applicant will have good interpersonal skills and will understand the issues young people face when homeless.
You will be capable of working on your own initiative under the guidance of a manager.
Experience of working with homeless people and in supported accommodation is essential along with an understanding of the issues surrounding the client groups.
You will need to be able to demonstrate that you are sympathetic, and firm and you are able to cope in situations which can be stressful as well as rewarding.
The service functions on a 24 hour basis, 365 days per year, and you will be expected to be part of the shift rota patterns including some regular evenings and weekends, ensuring that the young people living in the service are properly motivated and supported.
