AI Adoption Lead
Leger Shearings Group
Shape the customer experience agenda of a multi brand travel business at a pivotal moment of our transformation and growth!
Leger Shearings Group is seeking an AI Adoption Lead to make AI part of how our people actually work — not a tool they tried once. This role owns the human side of our AI rollout: training, enablement, change management, internal champions, playbooks, and ongoing reinforcement. The hardest part of getting value from AI isn't the technology — it's behaviour change. Most AI rollouts fail because tools sit unused. This role exists to make sure that doesn't happen here.
This role works in close partnership with the AI & Automation Lead, who owns the implementation side. The Implementation Lead builds; the Adoption Lead drives uptake. Together they form the AI delivery function reporting into the executive team.
We can buy any AI tool we want. What we can't buy is a workforce that uses it. This role owns the gap between the two — and is the difference between a smart investment and an expensive shelf of unused software.
The successful candidate is most likely to come from one of:
- Learning & Development or internal training.
- Internal Communications or Employee Engagement.
- Change Management or Transformation Programme delivery.
- A strong Operations Manager who has led tooling rollouts.
This is not a technical role. We are not looking for a developer or an analyst. We are looking for someone who can make change stick.
Your Compensation & Working Pattern
*
- Base salary up to £45,000 depending on experience.
- Performance bonus tied to (a) % of staff in target functions actively using AI tools weekly and (b) adoption-weighted hours saved across the business.
- Office-based at our Rotherham office, 5 days a week. This is essential — the role depends on being visibly present, sitting with teams, and running in-person enablement.
- 30 days holiday each year (including public holidays), increasing by a day each year for your first 3 years.
- Extra paid leave for your Birthday and Christmas Eve.
- Enjoy an extra 5 days paid leave each year and £790 for both you and your partner to take an LSG tour across Europe.
Your Key Responsibilities
1. Lead Adoption and Enablement
- Own the rollout plan for every AI tool and automation deployed across the business.
- Sit inside teams during rollout — not just in training rooms — to observe how work actually gets done and where AI fits.
- Build and maintain an internal champions network across departments.
- Run weekly office hours, drop-in clinics, and team-by-team enablement sessions.
2. Build Training and Enablement Materials
- Produce role-specific playbooks (contact centre, marketing, finance, administration).
- Maintain a living prompt library, with examples vetted for accuracy and tone.
- Create short, practical training content — videos, one-pagers, walkthroughs — not slide-heavy theory.
- Onboard new joiners onto the company's AI tooling and ways of working.
3. Drive Behaviour Change
- Identify resistance early and address it directly with managers and teams.
- Coach managers to expect, model and recognise AI use in their teams.
- Celebrate visible wins internally — keep momentum loud.
- Flag tools that aren't being used and feed that signal back to the Implementation Lead.
4. Measure Adoption
- Track active users, frequency of use, and adoption-weighted hours saved by tool, team, and individual.
- Report adoption metrics to the executive team monthly.
- Identify pockets of low adoption and intervene before they become entrenched.
5. Internal Communication
- Run the internal narrative on AI — what's coming, what's working, what's changing.
- Maintain a regular cadence of internal updates, success stories, and FAQs.
- Be the visible, friendly face of AI across the business.
Key Deliverables (First 6 Months)
- An internal champions network of at least one nominated person per department, meeting regularly.
- Four role-specific playbooks live, with a vetted prompt library underpinning them.
- 70%+ of staff in target functions actively using AI tools weekly by month six, evidenced by usage data.
- A measurable reduction in time-to-competence for new tools — staff productive within two weeks of rollout.
- A documented training and onboarding programme operating as a repeatable process.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Has run a successful change, adoption or enablement programme inside a business of similar size — specific examples expected at interview.
- Strong communication and facilitation skills, including in front of sceptical or busy audiences.
- Comfortable using AI tools daily and explaining them in plain language to non-technical people.
- Practical, organised, and persistent — gets back into a team after a rollout, not just on day one.
- Credible with both senior leaders and front-line staff.
- Comfortable working alongside a technical Implementation Lead and translating between teams.
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Background in Learning & Development, Internal Communications, or Change Management.
- Experience leading enablement during a CRM, contact centre, or systems rollout.
- Experience designing and running an internal champions or super-user programme.
