Peterborough College is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Air & Defence College Coordinator to join our specialist Air & Defence College.
This unique role would suit someone with Armed Forces experience who is passionate about developing young people and helping them prepare for careers within the RAF, Armed Forces, emergency services and wider public service sectors.
Whether you have experience as a Physical Training Instructor, Training Instructor, NCO, officer, adventurous training leader or military trainer, this is an opportunity to use your skills and experience to make a real difference.
About the Role
You'll play a key role in preparing students for future careers in the Armed Forces through a combination of teaching, coaching, mentoring and practical activities.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing students for RAF recruitment and selection processes
- Delivering practical and theoretical training relating to fitness, leadership and military preparation
- Coordinating student recruitment, enrolment and progression
- Organising enrichment activities, residential trips and expeditions
- Building relationships with military organisations, employers and external partners
- Monitoring student progress and supporting learners to achieve their goals
- Promoting the Air & Defence College within schools and the wider community
What We're Looking For
We're particularly interested in hearing from applicants who have:
- RAF or wider Armed Forces experience
- Experience delivering physical training, adventurous training or military instruction
- Strong leadership, coaching and mentoring skills
- Experience supporting young people to develop confidence, resilience and teamwork
- Excellent communication and organisational abilities
- A passion for helping learners achieve their ambitions
Teaching qualifications are welcomed, but we also recognise the wealth of training and instructional experience gained through military service.
