Senior Brokerage Officer – Children & Young People

37 Hours

Scale 6: £31,537 – £33,699

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Senior Brokerage Officer to join our Children & Young People’s Brokerage Team.

This is a key role supporting the Team Leader to deliver a high-quality, cost-effective brokerage service. You will oversee placement activity, support and guide Brokerage Officers, and work closely with social workers, fostering teams and providers to secure the best outcomes for vulnerable children and young people.

Key Responsibilities

  • Overseeing placement sourcing and team workloads
  • Supporting and guiding Brokerage Officers
  • Managing complex placements and leading negotiations
  • Working in partnership with social care, providers and other professionals
  • Providing market insight to support commissioning and service development

What we’re looking for:

  • Experience in Children’s Services (brokerage/placements desirable)
  • Strong leadership skills, including transferable leadership experience, with a proactive and solution-focused approach
  • Excellent communication skills, with confidence to communicate effectively at all levels
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
  • Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills
  • Good understanding of the children’s provider market

Selection Process

As part of the recruitment process, candidates will be required to deliver a 5 minute discussion the current childrens Residential homes market. Candidates shall Demonstrate their understanding of market challenges, sufficiency and placement options.
