We are seeking an enthusiastic and creative Lecturer in Filmmaking and Media Production to join our team on a part-time (0.5 FTE) basis. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a dynamic, practice-led programme that prepares students for careers in contemporary film and media industries.

You will:

- Lead and support practice-based learning, including studio, location, and post-production work
- Teach and support students in post-production workflows, editing, VFX, and finishing techniques
- Contribute to teaching in production techniques, including camera, sound, and/or directing practices
- Supervise student projects and provide constructive, developmental feedback
- Support student engagement, progression, and achievement
- Contribute to curriculum development, ensuring relevance to current industry practices
- Engage with industry where possible, helping to maintain links that enhance student employability
We welcome applicants from a range of professional and academic backgrounds. You should ideally have:
- Experience in filmmaking and/or media production, including post-production and/or VFX workflows
- A strong commitment to practice-led teaching and learning
- Knowledge of relevant industry-standard software (e.g., Adobe Creative Cloud, DaVinci Resolve, After Effects, or similar)
- Experience of supporting learners in developing creative and technical skills
- An understanding of current industry practices and production processes
- A Master's degree (or equivalent professional experience) in a relevant field
- A teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards one)
- The ability to communicate through the medium of Welsh
You will become part of a collaborative and supportive academic community, with access to excellent facilities and opportunities for professional development. We are committed to fostering creativity, innovation, and inclusive teaching practices.
We are committed to building a diverse and inclusive academic environment and strongly encourage applications from women and individuals from underrepresented groups in the film and media industries.
We recognise that skills and experience can be gained through a variety of pathways. If you meet many, but not all, of the criteria, we still encourage you to apply. We value creativity, potential, and enthusiasm for teaching alongside established expertise.
