GMMH are seeking a Principal Clinical Psychologist with the passion, expertise, and leadership skills to shape the training experience of our trainee clinical psychologists.

We are recruiting a Principal Clinical Psychologist to work closely with the Chief Psychological Professions Officer and senior GMMH clinical psychologists to ensure high‑quality training, support, and development for GMMH‑employed trainee clinical psychologists.

If you are passionate about developing future clinical psychologists and want to make a meaningful impact on training within a large and diverse mental health Trust, we would love to hear from you.

Main Duties of the Role

The Postholder Will

  • Ensure GMMH meets its obligations under the NHSE education agreement.
  • Support trainees who require reasonable adjustments, ensuring equitable access to training.
  • Promote and maintain a positive, psychologically safe learning culture within GMMH clinical psychology training.
  • Work closely with trainees, the University of Manchester Programme team, and GMMH clinical psychologists who offer training placements.
  • Contribute to the development and coordination of high‑quality training experiences across the Trust.

Training, ongoing supervision, and support from senior GMMH colleagues will be provided where needed.
