The Role

Our dispute resolution department handles a broad range of contentious matters for businesses and individuals. Recent departmental work has included Aster Communities v Kerry Chapman & Ors [2021] EWCA Civ 660, a Court of Appeal dispute concerning Kingsway Gardens leaseholders and section 20 consultation / service charge issues.

The successful candidate will be involved in matters including:

  • Commercial and contractual disputes
  • Property-related disputes
  • Shareholder, partnership and business disputes
  • Debt recovery and enforcement
  • Professional negligence claims
  • Pre-action correspondence and settlement strategy
  • Mediation, negotiation and court proceedings

You will manage your own caseload where appropriate, work closely with partners on more complex matters, and help maintain the firm’s strong standards of client care.

Who We Are Looking For

We are open-minded as to PQE or level of qualification. What matters most is that you are bright, capable, commercially aware and good with clients.

You should be:

  • A qualified solicitor in England and Wales, or a Chartered Legal Executive (FCILEx) or Graduate Legal Executive with equivalent experience
  • Experienced in dispute resolution, litigation or contentious work
  • Good analytical skills
  • Confident dealing with clients and opponents
  • Practical, commercial and solution-focused
  • Organised and able to manage deadlines
  • Keen to take responsibility and develop your practice
  • Interested in contributing to the continued growth of the department
