About The Role

We are excited to be launching a brand new Fashion and Marketing subject area in our Vibrant and Fast Growing Folkestone College. This is a subject we will grow over the coming years to have both level 2 and level 3 courses available.
Set within Folkestone's Stylish and Cultural scene, renowned for it's Creativity, this will bring Fashion to Folkestone College for the first time! Their is a big gap in the local market for this subject, and a proven appetite for it amongst our already existing creative students.

You will teach and inspire the next generation of creative talent, bringing your passion and expertise into the classroom. You will deliver engaging and industry-relevant learning experiences across a range of environments. You'll also support students to develop their skills, confidence and creative vision, helping them to reach their full potential. Alongside teaching, you will lead on the planning, delivery and continuous improvement of programmes, ensuring they remain engaging, relevant and aligned with industry trends.
You will play a pivotal role in creating an outstanding learning experience that helps every student thrive!
This position is for 18.5 hours per week with a salary of £18,055 up to £19,780.
The Working Pattern Will Be
Monday: 09:30 - 15:30
Tuesday: 09:30 - 17:00
Wednesday: 08:30 - 17:00.
There will be potential of working hours increasing in the future and the working pattern is subject to change and can be discussed further upon interview.

You’ll be a highly organised and creative educator, with the ability to plan and deliver engaging, innovative lessons that inspire learners.
You’ll have strong interpersonal skills, a positive and empathetic approach, and the confidence to manage a classroom effectively. Tracking student progress and using this to plan targeted support and interventions will be a key part of your role.
Ideally, you’ll have experience teaching or delivering training in the workplace, although this isn’t essential as full training will be provided. You’ll be able to teach across Level 1 to Level 3 programmes and motivate learners to achieve and succeed in their studies.

Please note that there are two salary scale points for our Lecturer positions. All candidates will start at the introductory salary scale point unless certain criteria are met. Lecturers will normally move up to the highest salary scale once one full academic year of teaching for our group is complete. (Lecturers must be in post by 1st September in any given year to qualify and this is subject to approval). Therefore, internal applicants in the same role may qualify for the higher salary scale, although should seek clarification
