Overview

We are currently recruiting for an experienced HR Manager to join a well-established and growing business on a 12-month maternity cover contract. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HR professional to join a people-focused organisation where you will play a key role in supporting both employees and the wider leadership team.

The successful candidate will report into senior leadership and manage a small HR team of 3 direct reports. The role is expected to start in August to allow for a full handover period.

This position offers a broad and varied generalist HR remit, covering employee relations, recruitment, payroll support, training and development, HR projects, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide professional HR advice and guidance to managers across the business
  • Oversee recruitment activity and support talent attraction initiatives
  • Support payroll processes, ensuring accuracy and deadlines are met
  • Monitor HR KPIs and provide reports and recommendations to management
  • Manage employee relations matters in line with UK employment legislation and company policy
  • Design and deliver management training and development initiatives
  • Support organisational change and continuous improvement projects
  • Build strong working relationships across departments and leadership teams
  • Manage incoming HR communications and maintain a professional HR service
  • Lead and support a small HR team, ensuring high standards and performance

Requirements

  • CIPD Level 5 qualified or equivalent experience
  • Strong background within a generalist HR role
  • Excellent employee relations knowledge and practical experience
  • Up-to-date understanding of UK employment legislation
  • Strong communication, coaching, and influencing skills
  • Ability to build relationships at all levels of the business
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail
  • Experience supporting business growth and change initiatives
