Role Overview

We are hiring for a Cook (Relief/Bank) to work on-site at Bradbury Grange, Whitsable on a contractual basis. This role involves preparing meals for residents in a healthcare or hospitality setting, ensuring dietary needs are met while maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene. The position requires flexibility to cover shifts during peak times, evenings, or weekends as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals according to menu plans while adhering to dietary restrictions and nutritional requirements for residents.

• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen, including work surfaces, equipment, and storage areas.

• Monitor food supplies and report inventory shortages or equipment issues to management.

• Follow food safety protocols to prevent contamination and ensure compliance with health regulations.

• Collaborate with nursing or hospitality staff to adjust meals based on resident preferences or medical needs.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Minimum one year of experience in commercial kitchen environments or healthcare food services.

• Knowledge of food safety regulations and hygiene standards in a professional kitchen.

• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays on short notice.

• Basic math skills for measuring ingredients and portion control.

• Strong communication skills to coordinate with kitchen staff and dietary teams.
