The Role

The Data Analyst will undertake tasks pertinent to rail infrastructure asset management activities and will provide an efficient and effective technical and analytical support service (data handling, analysis, administration, and reporting) to the team and support / collaborate with external partners.

Role Responsibilities

  • Analyse and present data to support the asset data manager, by reviewing multiple data sets to identify correlations and trends that will inform a business case to ensure Transport for Wales' (TfW) can make informed decisions.
  • Provide technical support for asset management activities by using the asset management system, legacy and current data sets to provide information to the Engineering teams to make informed decisions.
  • Provide support to other directorates by collaborating with multiple teams and delivering insight and evidence to ensure a shared analytical provision within TfW.
  • Conduct upkeep and review of asset data and records by constantly reviewing the various systems/data sets/SharePoint to ensure TfW has the most up to data information available to support its decisions.

Who We're Looking For

  • Previous experience of analysis that makes use of multiple data sources to provide discoveries and insights into trends and other patterns.
  • Advanced user of Office 365, Teams, Microsoft Excel and SharePoint.
  • Experience of interpreting and effectively communicating information and data to colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Experience of thinking creatively, solving problems and working flexibly while managing competing priorities in a high profile, challenging and fast-moving organisation.

Welsh Language Skills

While not essential for this role, Welsh language skills would make a great addition to your application.
