Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement individualised education plans to address the unique needs of each student
  • Deliver engaging, differentiated lessons that cater to a range of learning styles and abilities
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including therapists and support staff, to ensure a holistic approach to student development
  • Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting teaching strategies as needed to maximise student growth
  • Maintain detailed records and actively participate in the school's reporting and IEP review processes
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment that promotes student well-being and self-confidence
  • Engage in ongoing professional development to stay abreast of best practices in special education

Required Qualifications And Experience

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching certification
  • Extensive experience working with primary-aged children, particularly those with special educational needs
  • Strong knowledge of the National Curriculum and strategies for differentiated instruction
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with parents, carers, and multi-disciplinary teams
