Regional HSE Advisor

Altrad are currently looking to recruit a Regional HSEQ Advisor to support operations across the Northwest region, based from Ellesmere Port.

Reporting to the Regional HSEQ Manager, the Regional HSEQ Advisor will act as a key point of contact for operational onsite performance, ensuring compliance with Altrad’s integrated management system, customer requirements, and relevant legal standards. The successful candidate will work closely with operational teams to promote a strong safety culture and drive continuous HSEQ improvement across site activities.

Key Deliverables

  • Support the onboarding process for new employees, including delivery of company inductions and D&A screening.
  • Ensure daily operational activities comply with Altrad’s integrated management system, customer procedures, and legal requirements.
  • Provide HSEQ support, advice, and monitoring of onsite working practices.
  • Support the development and review of Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) from planning stages through to project execution.
  • Provide functional HSEQ support to Site Management and Operational Teams across multiple locations.
  • Collaborate with onsite HSEQ and Operations teams to assess and respond to operational requirements.
  • Maintain a visible onsite presence, engaging with employees to promote and develop a positive safety culture.
  • Conduct audits, inspections, and safety tours, recording actions and monitoring progress through to completion.
  • Support incident and unwanted event investigations alongside operational teams where required.
  • Identify training requirements and deliver bespoke Altrad HSEQ training packages.
  • Drive continuous HSEQ improvement initiatives in collaboration with customers and associated contracting teams.

Key Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience within a HSEQ function.
  • NEBOSH National General Certificate (or equivalent) as a minimum, with progression towards Diploma level or higher education desirable.
  • Membership of IOSH or a similar recognised occupational health and safety body.
  • Previous experience within an industrial multi-service provider, petrochemical environment, or similar sector.
  • Strong access/scaffolding or mechanical background would be advantageous.
  • Confident communicator with the ability to present effectively to workforce teams, management, and customers.
  • Strong understanding of HSEQ legislation, standards, and operational compliance requirements.
  • Ability to build effective working relationships across operational and client teams.
  • Full UK driving licence.
