Job Title: Warehouse Support Assistant

Grade: AT4

Location: Wellingborough

Purpose of position

An opportunity has arisen for a Warehouse Support Assistant to provide efficient administration support to the Warehouse department.

Reporting to the Warehouse Team Managers, the above position is for a full-time role which will be on backshift (14:00-22:00) working any 5 days from 7 and will include weekend working therefore, it is essential that you are flexible in your approach to work.

Duties and responsibilities

• Provide general administration support as required to aid the efficient running of operations.
• Proactively manage all stock movement documentation, in line with agreed process and procedures.
• To update the systems with relevant data, because of operational /pallet transactions.
• To liaise with customers, haulier’s and internal customers on all issues relating to the operation.
• Maintain WMS database and schedules with no effect to the service levels and stock integrity.
• To ensure all handling of finished products comply with Legislative, Company & Customer requirements with respect to Food Safety, thus ensuring that all products, packaging and processes meet these requirements.
• Escalate to the Warehouse Management Team any issues that are likely to affect the performance of the department, site or relationship with the customer.
• To attend training courses when required.
• To comply with Quality, Health and Safety procedures and to ensure a safe working environment for self and others.
• To be responsible for the Health and Safety of themselves and other operatives by adhering to safe working practices.
• Any other duties considered necessary to fulfil the role.

Experience, skills, attributes and the Person

• Confident communicator.
• Well organised and able to work to deadlines.
• Computer IT literate with good experience in using Microsoft Office – especially Excel.
• Ability to work under pressure and flexible in their approach.
• Sound team player and motivator who can work on own initiative.
• Knowledge of Warehouse systems is desirable but not essential.
• Good numerical and analytical skills paying strong attention to detail.
• Driven by continual improvement and high personal standards.
