Vacancy Type: Permanent

Location: This position is based at the National Records Group, National Record Centre, Audax Road, York, YO30 4US. During your training period you would need to be office based.

Hours: 35 hours per week. Part-time or flexible working can be considered.

Salary range: Band 6, £25,409 per annum.

Your experience and skills

Who are we looking for?

  • Manage the movement of records and data, tracking documentation to and from the Records Centre to ensure accuracy and accountability.
  • Maintain and update records systems, ensuring data within electronic records management systems is accurate, complete and up to date.
  • Produce reports on record status, providing clear insights into availability, location and tracking of documentation.
  • Investigate and resolve missing or unavailable records, liaising with stakeholders and reporting on outcomes.
  • Provide access to records and information, including prints, source documents and CAD files, ensuring timely and secure delivery.
  • Maintain reference libraries and archives, supporting easy retrieval and consistent organisation of records.
  • Carry out general administrative duties, supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the Records Centre.
  • Support records configuration and control, including drawing numbers, version control and document formats.
  • Offer guidance on records processes and standards, helping colleagues comply with company and industry requirements.
  • Identify and suggest process improvements, contributing to more efficient and effective records management practices.

  • Educated to "A" Levels or relevant experience.
  • Basic understanding of engineering technology.

  • Records management experience.
