About The Role
Practice Plus Group are looking for a Bank Receptionist at our Suffolk and North East Essex service to prepare and open a centre for patients, doctors and nurses’ arrival and ensure patients are seen in a professional manner following the guidelines issued by Practice Plus Group.
Our OOH service is open from 18.30-08.00 Monday to Friday and 24 hours over the weekend. We can offer a range of sessions to allow you to flexibly choose the right shift pattern for you.
Our Suffolk and North East Essex OOH service is spread across the county with sites in; Ipswich, Colchester and Clacton-on-Sea. Please see the link below to see the site map.

What you'll be doing
You’ll be the welcoming presence and organised mind that helps keep things running smoothly during our out-of-hours services. Your responsibilities will include:
- Greeting patients warmly and registering them efficiently
- Managing telephone enquiries, bookings and patient queries
- Supporting clinical teams by coordinating patient flow
- Handling data entry and maintaining accurate records
- Ensuring the reception area is calm, tidy and professional
- Adapting quickly to changing demands during busy periods
Every shift brings a new set of challenges, and your flexibility will help us meet them with confidence.
What we’ll look for in you
We’re seeking someone who thrives on variety, is proactive, and enjoys working independently. You’ll stand out if you:
- Have previous experience in reception, customer service or admin—ideally in healthcare
- Communicate clearly and handle sensitive situations with empathy
- Can stay focused and composed during busy or late hours
- Are confident using IT systems and multitasking under pressure
- Show strong attention to detail and a commitment to confidentiality
- Are reliable, punctual, and enthusiastic about flexible working
