Role Description

This is a part-time, on-site Healthcare Assistant role based in Wolverhampton,United Kingdom. The Healthcare Assistant will support patients with daily living activities, including personal care, mobility, and comfort measures, while maintaining dignity and privacy at all times. Responsibilities include assisting with basic clinical observations under supervision, supporting safe medicine routines as directed by qualified staff, and ensuring that documentation and patient records are accurate and up to date. The role involves maintaining a clean, safe environment by following infection control and health and safety procedures, as well as assisting with manual handling tasks using appropriate equipment and techniques. The Healthcare Assistant will work closely with a multidisciplinary team, communicating effectively with patients, families, and colleagues to provide high-quality, compassionate care.

Qualifications

  • Good interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate clearly, listen actively, and build respectful, empathetic relationships with patients, families, and colleagues.
  • Awareness of health & safety and infection prevention principles, with a commitment to maintaining a clean, safe, and compliant care environment.
  • Previous experience in a healthcare, care home, or community care setting is desirable but not essential; training will be provided.
  • Ability to work flexibly on a part-time schedule, including potential evenings or weekends as service needs require.
  • Understanding of basic medicine routines and the ability to follow instructions from registered healthcare professionals safely and accurately.
  • Strong patient care skills, including assisting with personal care, mobility, and daily living activities while promoting dignity and independence.
  • Knowledge of safe manual handling techniques and willingness to use appropriate equipment to support patient movement and positioning.
