Orchard Park High School have an exciting opportunity for a committed and enthusiastic Welfare Officer to join our existing Administration team team on a full-time basis.
We are looking for someone who enjoys providing an efficient and effective support to the school in relation to Student Welfare and administration.
As a Welfare Officer your main responsibilities will:
- Act as the first point of contact for students and parents/carers in all matters relating to student welfare and first aid
- Manage the medical room, ensuring all medication is correctly stored and logged appropriately.
- Ensure all out of date medication is returned to parents/carers and in date medication obtained
- Record and file medical letters and provide updates as needed.
- Liaise with parents/carers and other medical agencies regarding children who are subject to a Care Plan, ensuring that requests for updated information are responded to in a timely manner.
- Provide attendance support including running the late room for late arriving students.
- Work collaboratively with the attendance team to reduce persistent absence.
- Comply with policies and procedures relating to child protection, health, safety and security, confidentiality and data protection, reporting all concerns to an appropriate person.
- Maintain and update all necessary records using manual and computerised systems, compiling returns as appropriate.
